		<description>Really interesting post. A course should linear or non-linear based on the learner&#039;s needs. Non-linear content is the ideal choice when you have a diverse set of audience. For example: your audience comprises of novices and experts, the novices can take a course in a linear fashion while the experts can choose their own learning path. 

Also, the course can be non-linear if its contents are independent of each other, i.e, you need not go through 1 to understand 2. Sometimes, it is necessary for a course to be linear. This is especially true when you are teaching the basics and then moving to application. In this case, the learner has to acquire and build skills as he/she goes along.</description>
